First and foremost, I'd like to thank Black Metal Rainbows for asking me to be a part of this. Being an LGBTQ+ black metal musician at all, let alone nonbinary/trans, is incredibly exhausting at times. However, seeing the way that people like me have grown into unbelievably talented and fervent artists is nothing short of inspiring and motivating. I'm incredibly proud, honored, and humbled to be considered a part of this scene that, many years ago, felt dangerous for a person like me to be in, leading to me hiding who I was for a long time, but now feels like a community bound by our strength and defiance to those who oppose us. With that said, seeing a project devoted to representation such as this come to fruition, and in such unapologetic fashion, was an incredible sight to behold, so I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this. Second, thank you to all of the artists involved with this project, and to all who support us, are one of us, and who are allies to us. We aren't going away, and this is proof. Take care of yourselves and each other. We are the river.
